Welcome to Albaro Languages

ALBARO (the first two letters of the main languages in which I specialise: ALbanian, BAsque and ROmanian) is actually Chris Hughes, a linguist of over twenty five years’ standing, a native English speaker, specialising in translation and interpreting of Albanian, Romanian and Spanish and translation of Basque, Catalan, Dutch, Portuguese, Galician, Afrikaans, Balkan & Vlach (Romanian) Romany, Romansh (Rumantsch Grischun) and Esperanto. I also teach Romanian, Albanian and Basque to professional linguists.

I was awarded the MBE in June 2006 for Services to Language and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL number 26802).
